Thank you, Portland. (my short list of gratitude)
- an amazing wealth of local farmers
- the inspired co-ops, like People’s, Food Front, and the Alberta Co-op
- the farmers markets to create wonderful meeting places to mingle with my neighbors and buy ultra fresh produce
- the ever-expanding map of bike lanes and dedicated paths for cycling
- the Urban Growth Boundary
- the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability
- the local “guild” of permaculturists, an informal association of people who have inspired me and continually teach me so much
- Fresh, clean water of Bull Run Watershed (Ironic timing for this post)
- the Willamette and Columbia Rivers and the various creeks that feed into them
- our proximity to mountains and ocean–the undeniable beauty that lures so many to the great Northwest
These aren’t listed in any particular order, and it could go on to touch on other parts of life here in Portland, but this is a good start. It’s a good reminder of some of the wonderful things that contribute to Portland as an amazing place to call home–all resources I am happy to share with clients and people relocating to Portland. It’s an easy town to brag about. This is just scratching the surface of what I love here.
