Comfort, Savings, and Staying Ahead of the Curve
Weatherization & Home Performance Pros–Portland, Oregon
Whether you own an 1890 Queen Anne, a 20s Bungalow, a Cape Cod, a mid-century ranch, or a late 1998 home that was built to modern day code, there are gains to be had and money to saved (in most cases). Assuming energy costs increases over time, here are some local service providers and resources to help you achieve these gains and stay ahead of the curve. There are many programs available and the incentives go through periodic changes based on local and federal funding streams. As an Energy Trust Trade Ally, I recommend you make their website one of your first stops to learn about what kind of incentives are currently available.

Milwaukie: The Other South Waterfront
With a walkscore of 98, a waterfront improvement project slated to begin this year, the MAX line making its way after that, Milwaukie is taking steps to be your new favorite hub. Portland is known for its neighborhoods and mass transit connectivity that provides access to downtown from multiple hubs, and Milwaukie already has a lot of the common amenities that have cemented other neighborhoods in the hearts and minds of Portland-lovers. With these new developments on the way, LOOK OUT! Downtown Milwaukie is poised to be the “other south waterfront”–a transit-oriented, human-scaled community with great parks, schools, and local businesses to sustain a vibrant downtown environment. This is a great quality of life, and these townhomes will nestle you in the epicenter of this evolving community.
We currently have 2 townhomes available in North Main Village, Downtown Milwaukie. As you can see in the previous post on 10675 SE 21st Ave., we have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath LIVE/WORK townhome available at $244,900. We’ve just listed 10667 SE 21st Ave. for $279,900. This townhome is the end unit with 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a bonus space on the ground level that could be a 3rd bedroom or a commercial space, and light-filled bonus family room.
This site is designed on the principles of transit-oriented development, with an emphasis on versatile living and working spaces. The bus depot is a block away and the light rail will be within a few blocks. Each of the townhomes has a ground floor space that can be used as a commercial space. Many have chosen to use them as bedrooms, but they seem well-suited to running a small salon, massage practice, law office, or some other creative home-based business. This a place where you can take your commute time back, and work from home. Take break and walk the waterfront or stop by one of many local restaurants or cafes. If you’d like more information regarding these homes or the local amenities in Downtown Milwaukie, please contact me. The farmer’s market is on Sunday, so that’s probably you’re best bet for checking out Downtown Milwaukie. Head out and explore. Enjoy!
